CoverGirl NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara Review and Swatches

July 2, 2011

After my favorite NatureLuxe Liquid Silk Foundation, CoverGirl added another member to its NatureLuxe line, NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara.

Boasting a mousse formula that is 20% lighter than the most expensive mascara, the NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara is made with a touch of beeswax, carnuba wax and tapioca polymers to give your lashes volume and lift. There are 4 shades to choose from, including Very Black, Black, Black Brown and Brown.

Just like Rimmel Glam’Eyes Mascara, the brush is made out of rubber and is long and slender. It reached both my top and bottom lashes easily and the tiny bristles also did a good job separating them.

The formula itself applied really wet and took a good minute or two to dry off completely. But once it set, it stayed on really well without smearing or flaking. It also made my lashes longer and more defined just like CoverGirl LashBlast Length Mascara, but with more volume and oomph.

Another thing I liked was how well it could hold a curl. The mascara felt super lightweight and as long as I curl my straight Asian lashes with my favorite Shiseido curler before I apply this, they will stay curled ALL day.

Bottom line, I think CoverGirl NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara is great as an everyday mascara that will give you the my-lashes-but-better look. If you like more drama like I do though, try my favorite Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara instead.

CoverGirl NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara is available at drugstores nationwide for $8.99.

Hey phyllis, I was wondering if you use waterproof or nonwaterproof version of mascaras? 🙂 I have yet to find a nonwaterproof mascara that can hold my asian lashes! 🙁

      Hi Kristy,

I got the regular version (I’m not a fan of waterproof mascaras). Let me know if it works on you =)
