Buxom Stay-There Eyeshadow Review and Swatches

Thanks to the Sephora Friends and Family event, I ended up bringing home some Buxom Stay-There Eyeshadows, which I had been eyeing for a while.

The shadows come in the cutest little pot with the cutest names like ‘Chihuahua”, “Saint Bernard”, “Poodle” and more. There are a total of 10 fun, wearable shades, including bright teal, royal blue, lime, violet and your everyday taupe, copper, champagne and charcoals. I have Black Lab, a gorgeous black with micro-glitter and Mutt, a metallic taupe.

Unlike your regular cream and powder eyeshadows, these have a fluffy, lightweight mousse-like texture that applies smoothly and blends easily. They swatch very well on finger tips but apply sheerer on the eyelid, leaving a metallic finish with fine shimmer. The color is very buildable though and you can easily layer for more intensity.

As for its claim to be water-proof? Let’s just say that’s a bit of a stretch. The shadows are, however, water-resistant and stay on a good day without fading or creasing on my dry skin. Those with oilier skin, however, will want to use a primer underneath or top with a powder eyeshadow to maximize staying power.

Buxom also makes a Stay There Eye Shadow Brush to be used for these babies but your good old pinkie or any synthetic brush like MAC #242 Shader Brush will do the trick.

Bottomline, Buxom Stay-There Eyeshadows are cute and easy-to use. I dub them the no-brainer eyeshadow!
