I got a sneak peek of the MAC Give Me Liberty Of London Collection yesterday and here are the reviews and swatches as promised!
Lipglass ($14)
These are all new and limited edition. My favorites are Perennial High Style and English Accents.
From left to right:
* Frankly Fresh is a caramel color.
* Perennial High Style is a cute creamy coral color.
* English Accents is a gorgeous creamy pink with lavender undertones.
* A Different Groove is a dark brown with golden shimmer. The color is pretty but will mostly likely be too dark for light to medium skintones.
Lipstick ($14)
These too are new and limited edition except, Peachstock, which is a Pro color. They all apply smoothly with great pigmentation.
From left to right:
* Blooming Lovely is a pretty lilac color that is similar to the English Accents Lipglass.
* Peachstock is a neutral beige color.
* Petals & Peacocks is a very bright cool-toned magenta.
* Ever Hip is a creamy coral.
Eyeshadow ($14.50)
From left to right:
* Free to Be is a matte medium coral. It goes on slightly more pigmented than Give Me Liberty of London but I don’t find it to be that special.
* Give Me Liberty of London is also a matte eyeshadow and the color is a light pink. The color itself is not that special but the worst part is the pigmentation. I can’t even get this to swatch on my hand or the paper. Blah!
* Bough Grey is a shimmery medium grey with a tinge of green undertones in the Satin formula. It applies smoothly and pretty pigmentedIt
* Birds & Berries is a beautiful shimmery dark green blue. Since it is a Veluxe Pearl eyeshadow, it has excellent pigmentation with easy-to-blend texture.
* Dame’s Desire is a frosty medium purple repromote from the Dame Edna Collection. It is a pretty color but you can definitely find something similar.
Beauty Powder ($25)
I normally find MAC’s Beauty Powders to be too sheer for my taste but both colors in this collection have decent color payoff.
From left to right:
* Shell Pearl is a gorgeous peachy color with golden shimmer and a repromote from the Sundressing Collection. It is similar to NARS Orgasm Blush.
* Summer Rose is a very cool-based pink from the Rose Romance Collection.
Blush ($18.50)
From left to right:
* Prim & Proper is a matte nude color.
* Dirty Plum may be described as a “sheer dark plum”, but don’t let the description fool you. It shows up as a very intense matte dark plum which looks gorgeous but the color is so dark I doubt very few will be able to use it as a blush. The color is also a repromote from the Pro line.

Hi,
What skintone (MAC shade) do you think will be able to pull off dirty plum? I’m an NC43.
Thanks!

JB : Dirty Plum is very similar to MAC Vintage Grape blush so it’s very pretty for dark and medium skintones

Hey Phyllis,
Do you know of any lipsticks similar to Ever Hip? (Mac or other brands)
How similar is Petals & Peacocks to Show Orchid? And which color would you prefer?

I really like this collection. I think I may end up getting Birds&Berries because its a beautiful teal color and I don’t have a teal in my e/s collection. Thanks for the reviews and swatches!
