Hi I was just wondering what does FOTD mean?? Sorry, I’m new to all this ^_^””
Lucie, FOTD stands for Face Of The Day.
OMG! u look so gorgeous you might just as well be on a magazine cover!
OMG,you look super pretty.JUst wonder how is your new website going so far?And what is a gunmetal eyeshadow that you recommend? Thanks a lot ^^.YOu’re gorgeous !
Looks amazing!!
beautiful as ever, Phyllis! i was wondering if youre wearing a circle lens contact, and if so, which one? the color looks natural but standout-ish!
I love this look! It’s so much nicer on you than Miss Duff with your dark hair ; ) I never thought about pairing bright purple with nude. I will definitely have to try it.
Make up alone does not achieve this look. Miss Duff went under the knife, got botox injection on lips, etc.
gorgeous as always,
can you update your new skin regime? They’re so clear
Great look!
What contacts are you wearing? They look really nice 😀 Satin Taupe looks way nicer on you than on me… I looked I got punched in the eye when I wear it 🙁
Thanks ladies =)
I’m wearing Geo Tri-Color contacts in Brown. They are just like Freshlook’s Colorblends and not circle lenses.
Karen, are you back in the US yet?
such a pretty look… i will def try this, this comin weekend -=)
Hi Phyllis,
can you tell us the makeup tools and brushes that you used to achieve the look? Is it better to apply foundation with a brush or sponge or by fingers? Do we need different brushes to apply eyeshadows? Thanks.
thank you for creating this look. love it! 🙂
Yes I am… just got back last night and incredibly jet lagged right now… lol
This look is gorgeous! What brush did you use to apply the purple pigment?
i think this looks absolutely gorgeous on you..i love ur skin too..mind sharing ur secret? xp
u are so damned pretty…why in the hell aren’t you doing face prints!Asian women in the spotlight are so fugly these days or should i say, most of the time!!
wow!! love this look!! you look so amazing in all your FOTDs.
btw, chanel pro lumiere #10 limpide? weren’t you a MAC NC30 before?
your skin must have lightened during the colder season.
Lovely, when it comes to eyeshadow application, unless you are just doing a wash, I highly recommend using a brush. Not only does it help blend everything evenly, it gives you more precision.
For this FOTD, I used:
MAC #239 Eye Shading Brush to apply the Gingersoft eyeshadow
MAC #219 Pencil Brush to apply the Satin Taupe eyeshadow onto the crease and blended it with MAC #217 Blending Brush
Small eyeshadow brush by Sonia Kashuk to apply the Violet pigment under the eye
As for foundation and concealer, I use both a brush and my fingers.
Bec, yes I use #10 Limpide for the Pro Lumiere. I’m normally a #20 Clair for Chanel foundations but the Pro Lumiere runs slightly darker.
Thank you so much Phyllis! You answered exactly what I wanted to know
wow, this is so gorgeous!!!
u look stunning. i am trying this look tomorrow night 🙂 do you think i should wet the purple eyeshadow before applying it?
Yes Tina, you should definitely apply the pigment wet so the color stays vibrant.
yeah…gosh…you might as well be on the mag yourself XDDDD…i think the purple looks better on you…
Thanks again. You guys are too kind =)
Hi Phyllis,
Is Gingersoft a limited edition eye shadow? I cannot seem to find it at the MAC stores…
Yes Gingersoft is a limited edition color from the Holiday Delights 6 Eye Trend Palette.
hi 🙂

omg im in love.. this look is amazing.. u should make a video tutoral! :]
