To cope with the new 4K technology, Make Up For Ever revamped its HD lineup, including one of my favorite concealers into the new Ultra HD Invisible Cover Concealer.
Unlike the original HD Invisible Cover Concealer that comes in a twist-pen design with a silicone tip applicator, the Ultra HD Invisible Cover Concealer just comes in a tube about 4 1/4 inches long. Key features include:
• 4K Complex that guarantees invisible coverage under the latest, ultra-magnified 4k resolution to look completely natural on camera and to the naked eye
• Anti-Dark Circle Complex with Radiance Booster that supports collagen to refresh and awaken the undereye area
• Pure Focus Pigments to reflect light and erase shadows
• Hyaluronic Spheres to prevent moisture loss
There are a total of 10 shades to suit light to tan skintones, including 5 color-correcting shades with pink or peachy undertones (R20, R22, R30, R32 and R40) to neutralize undereye circles and 5 concealing shades with yellow undertones (Y21, Y23, Y31, Y33 and Y41) to brighten and awaken. You can wear them alone or layer a concealing shade over a corrector for additional coverage. For my NC20 skintone, I was matched with Y23 for the concealer and R32 (featured here) for the corrector.
The concealer was super creamy and so blendable, just like the original! Thanks to its medium and buildable coverage, wearing the R32 alone was enough to cover up most of my undereye circles. It also stayed put all day with a light layer of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder or NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder on top.
Another thing I loved is the versatility. Though originally designed for the undereye area, Make Up For Ever also recommends using it under the eyebrows, on the middle of the upper eyelid and on the inner corner of the eye for a highlighting effect. I have used the concealer to color correct the freckles on my cheeks and it worked perfectly too.
Also worth noting is the amount of product you get. The original version, sold for $28, only came with 1.5 ml of product while the Ultra HD comes with 7 ml at $27 – you are getting almost 5 times more product and at a cheaper price too! Definitely a steal!
My only complaint? While the concealer felt semi-hydrating when first applied, it did end up settling into fine lines after a few hours. If you have dry skin like I do, using an eye cream and priming is a must.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Concealer is available at Make Up For Ever boutiques and Sephora for $27.
