MAC Making Pretty Face & Eye Brush Set Reviews and Photos

December 15, 2012

I have always been a sucker for cute packaging so needless to say, I couldn’t resist the new Face & Eye Brush Set from M·A·C Making Pretty Couture Collection.

MAC Making Pretty Brush Set 136 Face Brush and 282 Eye Brush Reviews

MAC Making Pretty Face & Eye Brush Set

The Making Pretty Brush Set comes with a light dusty pink faux shagreen case with a rose gold bow magnetic clip, along with two full-sized brushes with matching handles.

136 Face Powder Brush is a flat, dome-shaped brush for “sculpting, blending and highlighting”. It is now discontinued and last retailed for $62. 134 Large Powder Brush from the permanent line is similar but bigger and fluffier. The bristles felt ultra-soft and so nice on the skin! I love using this for blending and applying powders.

282 All Over Eye Shader is a wide, dome-shaped brush for “building and blending intense colour on eyelids”. It was released as a SE brush in past brush sets and is currently not available in full size. 214 Short Shader Brush is similar but smaller. Again, the bristles felt super soft. The short and dense shape also made it great for packing color on the lid, smudging color along the lashline and contouring the nose.

As for the case, it came in a very portable size of roughly 3 1/2 inches by 8 inches. The two compartments on the inside allowed enough room for both brushes and more. The bow detail was also super cute but the material was flimsy and the case couldn’t even stay open on its own.

Overall, the M·A·C Making Pretty Face & Eye Brush Set is a cute set, but not a must-have.

I LOVE that bow, and the packaging is so cute, but just TWO brushes for $100?

Lol yes it does seem like a lot but both brushes are full-sized and the 136 alone retailed $62 while the 282 will most likely cost at least $25 (which is how much the 214 costs) if it was sold separately.
