With a long line of celebrity fans like Reese Witherspoon, Paris Hilton and Jennifer Hudson, Per-fekt Skin Perfection Gel is a multi-tasking product that claims to be an alternative to traditional foundation, primer, color corrector and powder. It can be used alone or after moisturizer to help even out skin tone, moisturize, reduce redness, hide pores and smooth out wrinkles. Sounds a lot like the Asian cult product BB Creams doesn’t it?

The Skin Perfection Gel comes in a cute 30ml bottle with an airless pump. All you have to do press and it will dispense a small amount of product so nothing goes to waste. I normally use 2 pumps for the whole face.

Active ingredients include Isododecane, Polysilicone – 11, Dimethicone, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Montmorillonite, Thioctic Acid, Titanium Dioxide CI 77891, Iron Oxides CI 77499, CI 77492, CI 77491, Alpha Lipoic Acids, Vitamins A & E. It is also oil, parabens, talc and fragrance-free.

There are 4 shades to match different skin tones – Luminous, Radiant, Rich, Decadent – along with Translucent, which goes on clear. I have Radiant, a warm medium shade that is much darker than my NC30 skin.

The gel-mousse formula goes on super lightweight and not the slightest greasy. The finish is smooth and velvety, just like a silicone-based primer.

The coverage is minimal and does not do anything for undereye circles, freckles and redness at all. It does however, make my pores appear smaller and my face plumper. My foundation and concealer also seemed to apply much smoother and last longer when I use this.

Unless you have flawless skin, I would recommend saving this as a primer or mixing it with your regular foundation for more slip. For this reason, the $57.50 price tag is way too high. You can definitely get similar results with cheaper products.

Overall Rating:

Per-fekt Skin Perfecting Gel is available at Sephora for $57.50.
