Over the summer, NARS Cosmetics introduced a limited edition Long Hot Summer Eyeshadow Palette, created exclusively for NARS boutiques.
The Long Hot Summer Eyeshadow Palette comes in NARS’ signature black rubber compact and is about 3 3/4 inches by 2 inches, just like the Spring 2015 eyeshadow palettes. On the inside is a mirror with 6 eyeshadows, 4 of which are new colors. Each shadow contains 0.03 oz / 1 g of product, which is a little less than half of a regular single eyeshadow.
Long Hot Summer I, a new color, is a light cream with shimmer .
Long Hot Summer II, another new color, is a frosty neutral taupe .
Bellissima II is a matte cool grey brown with small flecks of shimmer.
Long Hot Summer III, the third new color, is a metallic cooper with shimmer.
Long Hot Summer IV, the final new color, is a metallic warm brown with shimmer.
Bengali is a matte rich chocolate brown.
The shadows applied with a soft, buttery texture and great blendability, especially Long Hot Summer II. They were all highly pigmented, with the exception of Bellissima II, which required a bit of layering.
The colors also complemented each other very well and I loved their versatility. With light, medium and dark colors and different finishes in one compact, I was able to use them to highlight, contour, as eyeliner and on brows.
NARS Long Hot Summer Eyeshadow Palette is available exclusively at NARS boutiques and narscosmetics.com for $45.
