Another palette that caught my eye from the Holiday 2008 Collection is Shu Uemura Eye Color Palette in Midnight Winter Sakura ($65).
This is my first Shu Uemura palette and thanks to my awesome friend (you rock Janet!), I was able to snatch one even though it was sold out everywhere in the US.
The palette is part of the Mika Loves Shu Uemura collection that is designed by famous Japanese photographer Mika Ninagawa. Not only does it come in a super cute compact with a picture of sakura flowers on the cover, it contains seven shimmery eyeshadows in neutral and bright colors and a black cream liner with red flecks.
The eyeshadows all apply smoothly with decent pigmentation and lasting power. The diverse color range also means you can create endless combos. The cream liner works great but it tends to come out slightly lighter than it looks. I also *love* the double-ended applicator! It has a sponge tip on one end and an eyeliner brush on the other and they are both made with good quality. They feel sturdy and are great for applying the product. The huge mirror on the inside is another plus. I am really glad I got this palette!

Oooh, I’m so jealous you got the Winter Sakura palette. I wanted that one so badly! I did manage to snag the Luscious Rose palette though and I believe some of those colors are similar to the Winter Sakura one, however, the packaging isn’t quite as pretty. Cherry blossoms are beautiful.
