Runway Beauty: Abstract Beauty at Libertine S/S 2016

January 10, 2016

A bold clothing collection calls for an equally fun beauty look. Case in point? The roughed-up 60s eyeliner and Blinky Palermo inspired nails at Libertine Spring/Summer 2016.

On the eyes, models were given a graphic look with a triple-line effect – thin through the crease, thick at the lashline and medium width underneath the eye with the tails tapering out the ends – courtesy of Blacktrack Fluidline applied with brushes of varying widths (209 Eyeliner, 239 Shader and 228 Mini Shader). The rest of the face was kept light with Lightful C Marine – Bright Formula Softening Lotion under M·A·C Studio Conceal and Correct Palette and Lip Conditioner on the lips.

To complement the high-key colors and neat, precise patterns in the clothing, the CND nail team created four distinct looks with a organized chaos vibe using SHELLAC™ Brand 14+ Day Nail Color and VINYLUX™ Weekly Polish in nearly-neon shades of yellow, pink, blue, orange and green. “Blinky Blocks”, a dual-toned color-blocked nail in clean lines and contrasting colors; “Checkmate”, a bright checkerboard pattern set against a white base made for a restrained pop art effect; “Bad Penny”, a metallic rose gold base with copper foil and a mosaic of miniature pennies; and “Veronica”, a look encrusted with mirrored glass-cut baguettes in various sizes.
