Inspired by hazy, diffused photos taken by Deborah Turbeville, the look at Rebecca Minkoff Spring/Summer 2015 centered around “nouveau natural” makeup look with sexy bedhead hair and watercolor, ombre nails.

Makeup
“To complement the bohemian pastels and gauzy romanticism of Rebecca’s collection, we focused on petal pink hues and softly illuminated skin with an unexpected sheen.” explained Stila Global Director of Creative Artistry Sarah Lucero. First, Lucero applied Stila Stay All Day Foundation and set it with Stila Illuminating Powder Foundation. To add a pink glow on the cheeks, she used All Over Shimmer Powder in Kitten. Next, she defined the eyes with the Window Shadow Palette and Smudgestick in Espresso then coated lashes with Mile High Mascara. To finish, she groomed brows with Stila All Day Brow and dabbed Color Balm Lipstick in Olivia and Vivienne.

Nails
Inspired by the unique 3D prints and color scheme in the collection, manicurist Michelle Saunders working for essie created freehand watercolor nail art for the hands. She started with one coat of blanc to make the polish shades appear brighter. Then beginning at the nail bed, she applied one coat of bikini so teeny to half of the nail. Next, she applied one coat of turquoise & caicos to the remaining half of the nail, slightly overlapping with bikini so teeny in the middle. She dipped a striping brush in lollipop and created a thin horizontal fault line across each nail. Directly after creating the fault line, she applied a generous amount of good to go top coat over the entire nail and continued to blend towards the tip of the nail until the desired look is achieved.

Hair
On damp hair, stylist Odile Gilbert working for Kérastase applied Mousse Bouffante and created a side part and blow dried hair with fingers. Section by section, she spritzed Spray A Porter and used a 2″ barrel curling iron in a vertical direction, twisting hair around the barrel and leaving the ends loose to create soft waves. Once all sections are curled, she ran fingers through the hair and sprayed V.I.P liberally throughout. Finally, she set the look in place with Laque Dentelle.
