TATCHA Classic Rice Enzyme Polishing Powder Review

August 12, 2012

Regular and proper exfoliation is key to a clear complexion. Not only does it remove dead skin which can cause a dull appearance, it will help your skin better absorb the treatments and moisturizer that follow. My favorite exfoliant of the moment? TATCHA Polishing Powder, a water-activated enzyme powder inspired by the beauty rituals of ancient Geishas.

TATCHA Rice Enzyme Polishing Powders in Gentle, Classic and Deep

The Polishing Powder is formulated with Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran, Papain (Papaya Extract), Algae Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract and without Mineral Oil, Synthetic Colors, Synthetic Fragrances, Sulfate Detergents, Parabens, PEGs, PPGs, Urea, DEA, TEA or Phthalates.

Gentle is a pink colored powder with added Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (Licorice Root) for sensitive skin.

Classic is a white colored powder with addded Hydrolyzed Conchiolin Protein (Pearl) for combination skin.

Deep is a green colored powder with added Houttuynia Cordata Extract (Dokudami) for oily skin.

To use, you pour a small amount of the powder onto your palm, add a few drops of water, mix to lather it up then massage over the skin for a minute. I like to use it after my favorite TATCHA PURE One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil but if you don’t wear makeup, you can use it on its own as a cleanser and exfoliator.

The Classic powder left my skin feeling smooth and clean without any irritation or tightness and added a nice glow. Plus since it does not contain harsh abrasives, I can use it daily even on my sensitive skin and never have to worry about over-exfoliating. Highly recommended!
