Skinceuticals Phloretin CF Gel Review

November 11, 2011

It is no news that Vitamin C is good for your skin. The antioxidant has been used in numerous skincare products to reduce inflammation, increase collagen production, lighten pigmentation and reduce UV damage. And now my search for the perfect Vitamin C treatment has finally ended with the new Skinceuticals Phloretin CF Gel, a serum-in-a-gel version of the famous Phloretin CF.

Containing a combo of 2% phloretin, 10% vitamin C and 0.5% ferulic acid, the Phloretin CF Gel is a corrective and preventive treatment that utilizes state-of-the-art technology to neutralize free radicals, suppress radiation-induced oxidative reactions, accelerate cell turnover, promote collagen synthesis and pretty much conquer damage at every level of skin.

Unlike the majority of Vitamin C products I have used in the past, this is meant to be applied in the AM. The instructions say to use 4-5 pumps but 2 is normally more than enough for me. The gel has a semi-strong scent that requires a bit of getting used to but the texture sure is awesome. It is lightweight, easy to spread and gets absorbed quickly. It also leaves my skin with just the right amount of shine for a nice glow and works great under sunscreen and makeup.

After a month of using the Phloretin CF Gel, I really could not be any happier. My skin tone has gotten firmer, more even and the few dark spots I have on my cheeks have also lightened a bit. But the best part is how smooth my skin feels – I literally cannot keep my hands off it (so bad I know!) And the best part? Zero irritation, peeling or breakouts.

Skinceutical Phloretin CF Gel 30ml is available at www.skinceuticals.com/ for $152.

    Hey Phyllis,

If you have any acne scars, can you later update us on whether it has had any effect on lightening those? Thanks!

Thanks for reviewing this. It is a bit pricey, but I am on the search for a good antioxidant or vitamin c cream to use.
