MAC Wonder Woman Collection Reviews, Photos and Swatches

February 11, 2011

POW! The new MAC Wonder Woman Collection is finally here!

MAC Wonder Woman Collection

The 32-piece collection contains products for the eyes, cheeks, lips and nails in a nice range of colors that will work on various skin tones.

One of my favorites is the Mineralize Skinfinish ($35). It comes in a plastic red and blue compact that is slightly bigger than your regular Mineralize Skinfinish. It has two highlighting colors, one on each end, and a satin bronzer in the middle. Pink Power is a trio of shimmery light beige, medium bronze and shimmery peach. Golden Lariat combines a shimmery gold with a darker bronze and shimmery coppery bronze. Like the regular Mineralize Skinfinish, they apply smoothly with great pigmentation.

The Powder Blush Duo ($24) too comes in a cute red and blue compact with a mirror on the inside. It is bigger than your normal Powder Blush and is exactly the same size as Beauty Powders. The top 2/3 part is a frosty color for highlighting and the bottom 1/3 is a satin blush color. There are two shades available, Mighty Aphrodite, a peachy pink paired with a brighter coral pink and Amazon Princess, a cool-toned hot pink with a plum. Both duos are gorgeous, decently pigmented and the powder is really fine.

Another product worth checking out is the Penultimate Eye Liner ($18.50), which is a gigantic version of the regular Penultimate Eye Liner. It applies smoothly and the bigger tip makes it easier to draw on a thicker line.

Overall, this is a fun collection but the packaging is definitely its biggest appeal. So how are you liking everything? Did you pick up anything?

There are several products that appeal to me, but I don’t want the whole collection, a little underwhelmed I might say. Alot of shades are similar to what MAC already has. The lipsticks look great and so does the bronzer. I can skip the eyeshadow quads lipglasses. But the packaging is fabulous, the lipsticks are my favorite. Amazing for the avid Wonder Woman, so-so for the avid makeup user.

I want to the released event this week and picked up Emancipation lipglass and blush in Mighty Aphrodite. I love the super oversized packaging. The packing is true to the spirit of the comet book theme.

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel the packaging is more exciting than the actual product inside…

My boyfriend got me the MSF in Golden Lariat, lipstick in Heroine, lipglass in Emancipation, eyeshadow quad in Valiant, and the red makeup bag. I LOVE all of the colors that I have, love the jumbo sizes, and LOVE the packaging.
