How To: Choose The Right Bronzer

July 1, 2010

Get the fastest, safest sun-kissed look this summer with bronzers!

• To find the right match, go a shade or two darker than your natural skin tone at most. Anything too dark will make you look dirty.

• If you have a light to medium complexion, look for honey/golden shades and steer clear of anything with orange or red undertones. Darker skin tones can pull off both golden and tawny colors.

• Avoid overly shimmery and glittery bronzers. Opt for one with a soft matte finish for the most natural glow.

• Liquids, creams and gels are good for those with dry skin or if you are going for a dewy look. Powder works best on oily skin.

Thank you for posting the picture, but if you don’t mind can you list the types/ brands of bronzers?

I’m looking for a matte bronzer that doesn’t have too much shimmer but I haven’t found one that I am satisfied with.

    Thank you!

Sure Jean! I’m actually in the process of updating my bronzer reviews. I’ll post a link shortly =)

If you are looking for a matte bronzer, try Stila Sun SPF 15 Bronzing Powder, NARS Multiple Bronzer or Wet ‘n Wild Bronzzer Ultimate Bronzing Powder (best drugstore bronzer ever!)
