Runway Beauty: Mermaid Eyes at Diane von Furstenberg S/S 2016

At Diane von Furstenberg Spring/Summer 2016, lead artist Pat McGrath gave models a gorgeous mermaid eye to go with the ’70s nightlife inspired collection. The eyes were first rimmed with aquamarine shadow using a damp brush before a seafoam color was blended over it up to the crease and under the eyes. Lots and lots of mascara helped define the eyes while the rest of the face was kept fresh with just a hint of peach blush, highlighter along the cheekbones and balm on the lips.

Runway Beauty: Glam Rock at Creatures of the Wind S/S 2016

At Creatures of the Wind Spring/Summer 2016, models rocked a Siouxsie Sioux inspired glam rock look. “She always had a very strong eye look – it had the same spirit, but was applied differently each time. The look is very eclectic with a lot of layering, which plays off the layering in the collection. It’s punk, tough looking. I loved the richness of the gold against the toughness of the black. It’s an updated, modernized take on eyeliner,” explained de Mey.

Runway Beauty: Metallic Green Eyes at Atelier Versace Fall 2015 Couture

At Atelier Versace Fall 2015 Couture, lead artist Pat McGrath ditched the signature Donatella Versace-esque smoky eyes and heavy liner and gave models a lighter look that consisted of metallic green eyes (try MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow Pinwheel in In The Meadow) and peachy lips to go with the 70’s rock ‘n roll wavy hair. The end result? A gorgeous romantic look that anyone can pull off.
