Models were turned into femme fatales at The Blonds A/W 2017 – “glossy, smoky eyes in metallic colors and elongated brows” along with nails in moonlit colors and hypnotic effects representative of a woman’s talisman.
Makeup: Kabuki for M·A·C Cosmetics
Skin was perfected with PRO Longwear Concealer. A pearly cream highlighter was blended down the center of the nose and on the cheekbones while Taupe Blush contoured the temples, cheeks and nose for a chiseled look. The metallic eyes were created with a long-wearing cream shadow with a lighter shade in the center. Over this, Gold and Heritage Rouge Pigments were layered. This eye shape was then blended out into the skin with Definitive Sculpting Powder and gloss is brushed over the lids. Lashes were curled and liberally coated with Haute and Naughty Mascara. Brows were combed and extended with MAC Fluidline in matching color.
On the lips, Sweet Thing Retro Matte Lipstick from the Kabuki Magic collection was used for a mauve/nude look and topped with Versicolor Lip Stain for a light pink sheen.
Medium in length and dagger shaped, the nails were framed in liquid mercury with magnifying spines to illuminate dimension and reflect a woman’s power in that moment. The CND team used their own form of nail alchemy to create unique finishes and textures, from lapis lazuli to quartz, dimensional python, geodes and mineral artifacts.
