Combining masculine accents with a feminine twist, the look at Marissa Webb Spring/Summer 2015 centered around a springtime smoky eye that anyone can wear – even during the day” with a braided pompadour.
Makeup: Yadim for Maybelline
Honey: Honey for Maybelline
Yadim created a clean base with Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation, FIT Me! Concealer and FIT me! Pressed Powder. He contoured cheeks with a biege shade from The NUDES Palette and then used Color Tattoo 24HR Cream-Gel Shadow in Barely Branded to highlight cheekbones, inner eyes, the upper bridge of the nose and the chin.
To create a “creamier, slightly shiny” smoky eye, Yadim applied Master Kajal in Black Onyx close to the lashline. He then applied the black shade of Color Molten in Midnight Morphy (available January 2015) up to slightly above the crease. Next, he added the silver shade of Color Molten in Sapphire Mist to the inner corners and used Baby Lips in Quenched on eyelids to get a glossy sheen. Great Lash Mascara in Very Black was applied to top and bottom lashes, to separate and define.
On the lip, Yadim applied Baby Lips in Quenched, followed by a touch of FIT me! Concealer, for a nude lip look.
For a modern take on the classic French manicure, Honey applied Color Show Nail Lacquer in Born With It as a base and Patel to the Metal on the tips.
Hair: Jeanie Syfu for TRESemme
To create the hair look, Syfu started out with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Mousse on damp hair and rough-dried ends for volume and texture. Next, she finished blow-dry using a round brush to create fullness through the top of the head and the hairline. Then using the end of the comb, she sectioned off the center portion of the hair three-fourths of the way down and clipped up. Syfu created a Dutch braid (inside out or reverse French braid) on both sides of the head using the loose hair, beginning at the temple and working her way to the nape of the neck. She braided the remaining lengths, leaving ends out, and fastened with a clear elastic. Then she misted the top section of the hair with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Hair Spray and lightly brushed along the part. Next, Syfu began to French braid, leaving additional volume at the front and base. She gathered hair along the part, working 90 degrees from the head, and finished braiding lengths of the hair leaving ends out. She fastened with clear elastic and gathered all three braids before twisting into a low bun, leaving ends loose. Finally, she brushed the completed French braid upward creating a wind blown effect and sprayed with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Hair Spray.
