Tropical Princess is the other eyeshadow duo that debuted in the NARS Summer 2014 Collection.
Despite the cute name, the colors were nothing like the bold, vibrant hues one would associate with the word “tropical”. The shade on the left, described as a “neon lemon lime”, is a light green with very fine shimmer. It showed up almost a chartreuse color against my NC30 skin with more yellow than green.
The color on the right, an “icy lavender”, is a super pale, cool-toned, almost silvery lavender that is even lighter than NARS Lost Coast Duo Eyeshadow. It swatched super shimmery with just the slightest hint of purple, and felt ethereal like fairy dust, making it perfect as both a lid and highlighting color.
The shadows applied smoothly with excellent color payoff and blended easily. The wear also lived up to what I would expect from NARS – minimal creasing and fading after 10 hours without the use of a primer.
NARS Tropical Princess Duo Eyeshadow is available at narscosmetics.com, Nordstrom and Sephora for $35.

Wow, very shimmery – but I think I prefer the Lost Coast Duo better.
