TATCHA Water Collection Skincare Reviews

October 14, 2012

To keep my dehydrated combo skin in top condition for Fall and ready for Winter, I have been adding TATCHA Water Collection to my regimen for an extra boost of moisture.

TATCHA Water Collection skincare reviews

TATCHA Luminous Dewy Skin Mist ($48) is a hydrating mist that comes in a gorgeous purple glass bottle. Formulated with Squalane, Red Algae Extract, Liquid Silk, Camellia Oil and potent moisturizing actives, it has a milky color and leaves behind a slightly heavier, almost serum-like finish. With just 2-3 spritzes, my skin looked soft and dewy with zero shine. I take this with me everywhere I go so I can use it throughout the day for a quick pick-me-up and to set foundation.

The Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask ($95 for 4) is a sheet mask saturated with similar ingredients in a higher concentration and promises to give you smoother, more luminous skin in just 15 minutes.

I have been using sheet masks ever since I was 15 and this was nothing like what I have used in the past. First, there is a layer of mesh surrounding the mask on each side, one that you peel off before you apply the mask and one that you peel after the mask is on.

Second, the material itself was different. Unlike most of the regular paper or cloth masks on the market, this is a coconut-derived biocellulose that felt sort of plastic-y but with a fit that completely blew me away. Once the mask was on, it grabbed onto my face like second skin and felt like nothing at all.

The thicker gel-like formula was also non-drippy, slightly cooling and so refreshing the 15 minutes flew by like a dream. My face glowed and felt so supple and soft like I had just gotten a facial. The results also lasted a day or two, which was much longer than my other sheet masks.

My only complaint was the price. At almost $24 a piece, this is even more expensive than SK-II Facial Treatment Masks, which can really add up if you use sheet masks 2-3 times a week like I do. I would save these for special occasions or emergency fixes.
