Runway Beauty: Chanel Paris-Byzance Pre-Fall 2011

December 12, 2010

Inspired by the mosaic of Empress Theodora, Chanel Global Creative Director of Makeup Peter Philips created a beautiful, graphic look for the Chanel Paris-Byzance Pre-Fall 2011 Collection.

According to Style.com, Philips “re-created the red eye shadow/liner that she wears on the arch of her eyebrows by drawing the shape with Le Crayon Lèvres in Rouge.” He dusted the eyelids with “a game of luminous golds and bronzes” by mixing the gold shades in Chanel’s upcoming Les 4 Ombres Eye Shadow Quad in Topkapi with Joues Contraste blush in Or and Mocha. Next, he added two more black lines along the outer edge of the upper and lower lash lines to create a “choreography between gold, bronze, black, and red.”

To finish the look, Philips left the lips nude with just a touch of shine with Chanel Soin Tendre Lèvres and painted the models’ toes with Chanel Le Vernis in Coromandel.

Below is a sneak peek of a new palette designed by Peter Philips. It is extremely limited with only 1500 available – I wonder if this is the Topkapi that he used?

I don’t think that limited edition palette is the Topkapi because the Topkapi is supposed to be an eyeshadow quad and the limited edition palette seems to have 5 colors.

Yeah I wasn’t sure… I couldn’t find a picture of the new quad and since they both have golds I just assumed they might be the same. Guess we will have to wait and see =)
