Just like Maleficent herself, this collection is about “a lot of crazy purples, blackened shades and beautiful pearlized nails”. So dark, mysterious and right up my alley!
The Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos ($21) are the first to catch my eye. My Dark Magic is a deep pink with dark plum and She Who Dares is a dark navy with deep forest green. When applied dry, the eyeshadows are very glittery and will barely show up with much color. But once you apply them wet, the color is very intense and simply gorgeous. I have always loved MAC’s Mineralize Eyeshadows and these are definitely some of my favorites.

The Briar Rose Beauty Powder ($25) is a very pretty cool-toned violet pink and makes the perfect blush to go with these dark eyeshadows.
As for the lips, there are two Lipsticks ($15.50) in the Amplified formula with two new, matching Lipglasses ($15.50). Violetta, a gorgeous bright magenta from the Pro line is matched with Revenge is Sweet, a sheer purple. Dark Deed, on the other hand, is a new, limited edition burgundy plum that goes with Wrong Spell, a dark brown.

Finally, there are three new Nail Lacquers ($13). While the colors look really cool, they apply on the sheer side and will take several layers to get that color you see in the bottle.
Overall, I am really liking the Maleficent collection (it is my favorite out of the four!) and below are my picks:
* My Dark Magic and She Who Dares Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos
* Briar Rose Beauty Powder
* Violetta Lipstick
* Revenge is Sweet Lipglass

the lipsticks are really cute! I think the eyeshadows look gorgeous in the pan, but they look a little sheer to me (actually I don’t know how heavily you swatches them, so maybe I’m wrong there).

The Maleficent collection is my favourite of the four as well. I picked up all the nail polishes and I am still debated on getting Briar Rose.

Linda,
The last time I saw the Naked Palette was at my local Ulta store back in August. You might want to call and ask?

makeup morsels,
The eyeshadows are indeed glittery and sheer when applied dry but the color turns really intense when applied wet. I will post swatches of them wet as well.

Steph,
Aww maybe next time =) Are you looking for a specific Japanese brand? If you are just looking for Japanese clothing in general, there are lots of Asian-style malls in Causeway Bay, Mongkok and Tsim Sha Tsui that carry them.

Hey Philis, Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, Ulta, Sephora, Nordy’s, etc are out in Washington!
