Guerlain kicked their famous Meteorites Perles up a notch with the new Meteorites Perles d’Or from the latest Holiday 2010 Collection Les Ors.
The Meteorites Perles d’Or comes in a sturdy jewel metal case with a golden bee that is just gorgeous! Like most of Guerlain’s products, it has a pretty strong scent that I like.
The product contains a mixture of six beautiful pearls to blur away imperfections, perk up a dull complexion and create a harmonious halo. The colors are iridescent white, neutral white gold, pearly apricot, pink, a new copper gold and violet.
As you can see from the pictures, the pearls are super fine and not the slightest glittery. They impart a pretty, almost ethereal glow and do not add much color. I like to brush this over my foundation with MAC 187 Stippling Brush or to strategically highlight certain areas like my cheekbones and down the nose. The effect is not very dramatic but you can definitely tell it’s there.
The only drawback is the price tag. At $56 a pop, you get a jar that is roughly 3/4 full. Nonetheless, I can imagine it to last quite some time so it will be a good investment in the long run.
The Guerlain Meteorites Perles d’Or is now available at select Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Bergdorf Goodman stores for $56.
