I first came across FACE atelier Ultra Foundation when professional makeup artist Kathy Aragon raved about it at The Artist Summit Chicago. Then I read that both Fergie, Lady Gaga and a whole lotta pros in the industry are fans so I finally gave it a shot to see what the buzz is all about.
The Ultra Foundation comes in 12 different shades along with 4 color adjusters to suit a variety of skin tones. I was sent a sample of #4 Sand, which is a yellow-based color and a decent match for my NC30 skin.
The texture reminds me a lot of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. It is very thin and goes on like second skin. The silicones also give it a very nice slip so it applies easily.
Coverage-wise, it is medium to high so you do have to start with a light hand. I like to put a few drops of product on the back of my hand then apply with a brush in a stippling motion to sheer it out. It makes my combination skin look radiant and polished while keeping shine at bay and not highlighting dry patches. I also love that it wears well with no creasing and the color stays true all day.
My only gripe is the availability. Since FACE atelier is not widely available in stores, chances are you have to rely on the color swatches online and pay the $45 price tag + shipping for it. I strongly suggest you purchase a sample from White Rabbit Beauty before you splurge on the full size.

Great post, Phyllis!
But I am afraid this one I will choose to skip on, it just doesnt seem reliable with the online buying part. Thanks though! Have a great weekend!
