Anastasia Lash Lifting Mascara Review

I have always been a fan of Anastasia‘s eyebrow products so when I read that Kim Kardashian loves the Lash Lifting Mascara ($22), I immediately dug up the sample that was sent to me to see what it was all about.

Anastasia Lash Lifting Mascara

The Lash Lifting Mascara is a multi-effect mascara that promises to thicken and curl. It is formulated with hard waxes to help build lashes and synthetic polymers to give body and volume. It only comes in one color, Black.

The brush is medium-sized and reaches the roots of my top and bottom lashes easily. I still need to use an eyelash curler to get that curled look but the brush does give my lashes a nice lift.

The formula is a lot thicker and drier than most mascaras. It delivers volume without too much clumping but it flakes horribly. I always end up with tiny flecks of mascara all over my face and have to take an extra minute cleaning up. Other than that, the mascara wears pretty well and washes off easily with soap and water.

Overall, this is a very average mascara and at this price, I definitely would have expected more from it. I guess I will go back to my Rimmel The Max Volume Flash Mascara for now.

  1. Yes, the formula is substantially drier than most mascaras I have. I thought that I got a dried up tube but your review confirms that is really is quite dry. I don’t like it because it clumps terribly on me.

  2. I actually really love this mascara. I have deep set eyes and so every time I have a mascara that is really “Wet” it’s just about impossible to keep it from smearing on my eyes, lids all over. And even if I manage that..those formulas just somehow melt off my lashes by mid-day more if it’s hot. The less wet formula with whatever it is inside that clings onto my lashes and allows me to build a lot of volume and really does lift my lashes which makes my eyes look more open. And this one I can wear all day and it never smudges or creates dark circles under my eyes,it’s incredible! So, I think everyone has different preferences, but this has been a savior for me.
