Below are reviews and swatches of my recent Hard Candy haul!
The Candy Cream Eyeshadow in Queenie with matching Glitter Eyeliner ($5) comes in a white plastic sliding compact just like Hard Candy’s old Eye Candy Eyeshadow. The color is a gorgeous purple that reminds me of MAC Fuschia Glitter. Compared to most other cream eyeshadows, this feels more like a gel packed with tons of silver glitter. It goes on slightly gooey and super pigmented. Because of the gel-like texture, I would recommend applying it in a patting motion – if you blend, you will only end up rubbing the color and glitter off. I really doubt this will stay on well if you don’t use a base.
As for the glitter eyeliner, it is a gorgeous violet with silver glitter. It is very creamy and applies smoothly but the staying power is definitely not the greatest either.
The Walk The Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Licorice ($6) comes in the *cutest* packaging! Although it looks black in the tube , it goes on very sheer like a dark gray and takes a bit of layering for the color to build up. It also feels very wet on and takes slightly longer to dry up. Once it is dry though, it stays on very well without running or flaking.
The Painted Lady Lip Color in Kitten 197 ($6) comes in a cute little plastic tube with a pink ribbon attached and is definitely my favorite product out of the bunch. The color is a beautiful tomato red with micro-glitter. It glides on effortlessly with excellent pigmentation and the best part? It leaves behind a super glossy finish and is not a bit drying. I think this will easily replace my favorite MAC lipsticks.
