How To Do Your Makeup When You Are Sick

6

After being completely knocked out by the flu for the past few days, I wanted to share with you ladies a few tricks that I use to look better when I’m feeling not-so-hot.

* To look more awake, use a brightening eye cream and creamy concealer under the eyes. Line the eyes with a navy color (the blue will make the whites of your eyes appear whiter), curl your lashes and apply a waterproof mascara. Right now I am really liking Lancome Indigo Charm Ink Artliner, Shiseido Eyelash Curler and Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour (2nd Edition) in BK999.

* Use blush/bronzer to bring a bit of color back onto the face. Slapping on a bit of self-tanner would help too.

* To detract attention from red, watery eyes, put the focus elsewhere by playing up your lips instead. Prep your lips with lip balm and apply your favorite lip color.

  1. What tips/products do you recommend for concealing redness around the nose if you’re sneezing and have a runny nose, etc.? I have allergies and I have to deal with this a lot :-(

  2. Rachel,

To conceal the redness, go with a creamy concealer like Cle de Peau Concealer (it’s expensive but totally worth it). Powder sparingly to set the concealer and make sure you exfoliate and moisturize the area properly to get rid of flakes or else anything you put on will look cakey.

  3. I was thinking of getting that concealer but now I’m def. gonna go buy it. Thanks! Which shade matches your skin?
