NARS Spring 2009 Collection Previews

January 15, 2009

Blush Duo in Hungry Heart ($37)
This new pair of iridescent gold ivory and pink sand with golden sheen can be used alone – the pink blended into the apples of the cheeks, and the ivory as a highlighter along the cheekbone – or on top a richer shade of blush for a sculpted look. The colors in the promo picture look pretty bland to me but the description of the pink color sounds really pretty. Can’t wait to see it in person!

Duo Concealer ($30)
The is a new product that features two complementary shades that can be blended together or used individually in the same compact. “The lighter shade brings brightness to the eyes,” says Nars, “while the darker one can be used to blend directly with skin tone.” Sounds like my kind of concealer.

Vanilla/Honey: Fair complexions
Custard/Ginger: Light to medium complexions
Praline/Toffee: Medium to dark complexions

Duo Eyeshadow ($32)
Both of these are new colors and perfect for spring! Egea is a frosted sage and smoky lilac and Hula Hula is a strawberry with gold particles and hazelnut with gold glitter particles.

Single Eyeshadow ($22)
These are also new colors.

Grenadines: is a matte garnet
Baby Girl: is a cotton candy with golden undertones and gold particles.
Night Sun: Bright marigold with gold particles

Multiple Duo in Orgasm/South Beach ($45)
I love this Multiple Duo and I am so glad it is featured in the spring collection! It is a gorgeous peachy pink and apricot with shimmer. For my review and swatches, check this out.

Multiple Bronzer in Cap Vert($37)
This is a new product for medium to dark complexions with red undertones. Just like the regular Multiples, it is uber creamy, great to blend and create such a natural sculpting effect!

Lip Gloss in Sweet Revenge($24)
This is a sheer pink grapefruit color.

Lipstick in Shrinagar ($24)
This is a metallic raspberry color.

I looked at some pictures of the blush duo on makeupalley and the general consensus is it shouldn’t be called blush since there is no pigment whatsoever in it… 🙁 One lemming died…

I think I might be getting the Hula Hula Eyeshadow duo and of course the multiple duo… but in general it is a disappointing collection for me 🙁
