A lot of people have asked me what’s the correct order to put makeup on but to be honest, I do not think such a thing exists. Different people have different ways of doing things. It is true that there are certain rules you should stick to but I personally think you should just do whatever works best for you. Here is how I do my makeup everyday in 6 simple steps:

Step 1: Prep my skin
Wash my face with water –> Apply eye cream, lotion and sunscreen

Step 2: Base
Apply primer (if necessary) –> Apply concealer under eyes, around the nose or any areas that needs coverage –> Apply a thin layer of powder all over to set the makeup

Step 3: Eyes
Fill in my eyebrows –> Prep my eyelid with a primer (if necessary) –> Apply eyeshadow and blend –> Line my upper eyelid –> Curl lashes –> Apply mascara –> Comb through lashes to make sure there are no clumps –> Curl lashes again

Step 4: Cheeks
Apply blush onto my apples/cheekbones –> Highlight the bridge of my nose

Step 5: Lips
Apply lip balm –> Apply lipstick/lip gloss

Step 6: Check everything
Look into the mirror under natural sunlight to make sure everything is well-blended –> Spray my face with a finishing spray or water

NOTE: If you are doing dark eye makeup, it would be wise to do your eyes before the rest of your face. This way, if you make a mess, you can just clean it up and not have to redo your foundation/concealer/powder.

Hey guys, I just found out that the comment moderation function is messed up. If you left a comment and it has not been published, it is not because I am trying to ignore you. Normally I would get an e-mail from Blogger when someone leaves a comment but for some reason, I did not get an e-mail for every message. From now on, I will be checking the comments moderation page myself to make sure all comments are published. Sorry once again about this!

Scratch the self-tanner reviews I did earlier becauseHawaiian Tropic Island Glow Daily Moisturizer ($6) completely blew everything else away! I bought this in Medium after reading some rave reviews online and I have been using this religiously for more than a week now.

Like Jergen Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer, this is a self-tanning moisturizer. It is packed with vitamins A, C and E with a green tea fragrance. Even though it claims to keep skin moisturized for up to 12 hours, I do not find it very moisturizing – I still needed to put a lotion on top. When I first applied it onto my legs, it dried pretty fast and I could not detect any green tea smell but there was none of that typcial self-tanner smell either. However, after a few hours, my legs started smelling a little like self-tanner but it is so much more bearable compared to the Jergen’s. As for the color, my legs started getting darker by day three – no more pale pasty legs for me yay! Moreover, the color looked very realistic, it was a golden bronze and not orange nor streaky. I am going to try mixing this into my facial moisturizer to see if it’ll work on my face too. Will post an update in a bit.
