Great list! I just got MAC’s Lovechild, which is a beautiful color that is almost the exact shade of my natural lips (maybe slightly deeper). However, I had been hoping for something a bit darker/more sparkly. I had originally thought about purchasing Pop Mode but was worried that this would be TOO dark–do you know of any drugstore equivalents of this shade? Thank you!!!

I actually think Mac High Tea is more similar to Rimmel’s Birthday Suit than Airy Fairy, but slightly peachier.

Really great blog you’ve set up 😀

Uhm, feel a bit stupid about asking this, but my English is not that good. When yopu say drugstore, do you mean, like, pharmacy? Cos I’ve never realized there’s makeup in pharmacies…

    ooooh..
Yah, I’m from Denmark. Small place, and you can’t even get decent body lotions in drugstores…
    *sigh*
    Well, thanx 😀

i just bought a NARS lipgloss in Orgasm today
i hafto say….its QUITE similar to my other lipgloss — Rimmel’s Vinyl Stars …i forget which color but the ref # is 540
the only difference (u can barely tell) is that

NARS — peachier color, stickier, a bit more natural, more $$$
Rimmel — more of a pinkish color, not as sticky, sparklier, a LOT cheaper

    don’t get me wrong..im happy with my purchase… 🙂

    i gotta say i lovee your blog~
but i have a slight question, do you think NYX eyeshadows is comparable to MAC eyeshawdows?
i hope if you have time, it’ll be great to do an review on NYX cosmetics.
    =D

  • Reply Anonymous October 19, 2007 at 10:42 pm

hmm not sure if my comment got published or not but i absolutely adore your blog here and was wanting to ask you, between the NYX pigments, were they rich and just close to quality just like the MAC’s?
i’ve been trying to find reviews for the NYX cosmetics since their prices are affordable. Any help here for their lines of cosmetics?
    =)

I’m using bare escentuals right now for my acne-prone skin but I would like to try a liquid foundation next. What would you reccomend that isn’t too expensive? Also, where can I find the Milani Minerals in your other post?

WOW… this is unbelieveable!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! this is sooooo helpful! but how are the quality of those knockoffs compare to the real thing?

  • Reply Anonymous March 23, 2008 at 1:44 pm

couldn’t agree more about the Milani comparisons! Their Runway Eyeshadows are much like Chanel too. The line is amazing for my darker skin and my friends with fair skin too. We love it. thanks for the great post!!

I agree with some of these “cheaper” drugstore options, but not all. Great job identifying most of the dupes though!

I use Clinique plum gorgeous blush. They stopped making the color and I can’t find a match. I would love to know an over the counter match but even a higher brand, Lancôme,etc. would be great. Thanks so much love the information.

Hi ! I wear the Lancôme Tient Diole 24hr and the dual finish pressed powder that’s long wear. I wear the 260 Bisque Neutral in foundation and Matte Amande III in powder. Do you know a Loreal equivalent color, possibly. This would help greatly as I volunteer most of my time for non-profits and have little income. My dermatologist recommended Lancôme and he said Loreal would be fine too. Thank you so much!!
