Chanel Pro Lumiere Professional Finish Makeup SPF15I always thought Chanel foundations were pretty good but after seeing a picture of this girl wearing the Chanel Pro Lumiere Professional Finish Makeup and looking absolutely flawless, I knew I had to go check it out.

The foundation feels thicker and slightly tackier than other liquid foundations I have used. However, it is highly blendable and glides on very easily. Once applied, it melts into my skin and looks like my skin but better. The coverage is medium but it never feels mask-like and I barely need any concealer on top. I apply this either with my fingers or my MAC foundation brush and one pump is enough for my entire face.

Chanel also claims that the foundation will “form a curtain veil of light on the skin” and boy is that true! Despite the lack of shimmer, its high-tech radiance-emitting active ingredients left my skin looking radiant and healthy without any kind of grease. I wore this to my company’s Christmas party on Friday and my makeup stayed flawless for 9 hours straight. My skin was still glowing by the end of the night and my makeup looked as fresh as it did right after I applied it – now that IS something!

My only rant would be the limited color range. There are only six shades available here in London (10 to 60) and pretty much all of them are yellow-based. The foundation also tends to run a little darker than other Chanel foundations. I normally use Clair 20 but I use Limpide 10, the lightest shade, for this one.

All in all, Chanel has a winner here and I have not liked a foundation so much in a while. This has completely replaced my holy grail Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation and I will definitely repurchase.

Hi!I was wondering if you could possibly do pictures of step by step tutorials (not all, just some).
Also, could you do a tutorial on corporate looks?
    Thanks!

Love your blog by the way.

is it just for skin that needs relatively low concealing? I have zits and can’t do with foundation that is too thin

  3. Phyllis says:

Hey Hwang, can you define corporate looks? Thanks!

  4. Phyllis says:

Zoe, I would say the foundation is good for low to medium coverage. It did a decent job covering up my freckles and undereye circles but you can definitely layer it on if you need more coverage. If you have acne prone skin, I would suggest using a concealer on top.

I am trying to find out the ingredients of Chanel Pro Lumiere Professional Finish Makeup. Really want to buy it but need to know what the ingredients are first due to skin reactions. If someone can post them it would be a great help.

    thanks

You r so right. I bought the same foundation and applied on ma dance performance and it was hard and I cam sweating at the end of the performance and I reached home around 12 at night and guess what it was as I jus applied it stayed on 4 hours. I applied in da afternoon around 2 and it stayed lik dat till night 12. I have to say ds foundation s de best.

Hey Phyllis! Did you the Limpide 10 shade to have any pink or yellow undertones? I’m wondering if it blends and actually becomes a second skin or looks like a pink or yellow hued foundation. Thanks!

  9. Louise says:

*did you find the Limpide 10 shade to have

  10. Phyllis says:

    Louise,

Limpide 10 definitely has yellow undertones that blends into the skin (it won’t make your face look yellow if that’s what you’re wondering).

Hi Phyllis do you also have a review on the mat lumiere? a comparison maybe?
    Which do you prefer?
I was told by the Chanel girl that Pro Lumiere is often used in photo shoots and was wondering if it had much use in everyday wear?
    thanks

    • Phyllis says:

      Janet,

I have not tried the Mat Lumiere so I can’t compare the two.

The Pro Lumiere is great for photoshoots but I don’t find it too much for every day at all.
