Deriving inspiration from classical 18th century motifs such as Toile de Jouy, the Oscar de le Renta Autumn/Winter 2016 collection was filled with a gorgeous palette of French blue, oyster, bordeaux, dusty rose and black, paired with a modern eyeliner with vintage nails.
Makeup: Diane Kendal for M·A·C Cosmetics
Nails: Michelle Saunders for essie
To perfect the skin, Kendal blended M·A·C Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer over the face and applied Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder to set. She added Powder Blush in Cubic to the center of the cheeks for a flush of color and Mineralize Pinwheel in Transformer (available Autumn/Winter 2016) high on the cheekbones for a reflective finish on the skin. The eyes were lined with a large, squared wing over the top of the eye, using Creme Liner in Black with a 208 Brush. The crease of the eye was then defined with an oval, black shape that connected to the outer wing, ending in a soft, black point. Upper lashes were curled and swept through with Haute & Naughty Lash in Black. The look was finished with Lipstick in Fun Happens from M·A·C Trend Forecast Fall 16/Lip (available Autumn/Winter 2016) mixed with concealer and pressed onto the lips with a 242 Brush.
On the nails, Saunders created a well-groomed “vintage glow” look that represented health and vigor using shares allure and hi maintenance, followed by a coat of matte about you and apricot cuticle oil rubbed onto the nail to give a “satin” finish.
