I have always preferred liquid foundations but when EVERYONE raved about MAC Studio Tech ($27.50), I had to find out what it was all about.
Utilizing a tri-system blend of water, emollients and powder, the Studio Tech comes in MAC’s signature black compact with a sponge on the bottom compartment.
While the foundation looks solid in the compact, it has a creamy texture that goes on smoothly and immediately melts into my skin, leaving behind a natural and semi-matte finish. Coverage-wise, it is on the heavier side so I like to apply it with my MAC 190 Foundation Brush to sheer it out.
The only thing I did not like is the color. I always use NC30 for MAC foundations/concealers but for some reason, this one seems to run a lot darker and looks more orange. It also does not oxidize well so at the end of the day, I always end up looking a shade or two darker – not hot!

The Mac Studio Tech is awful on my skin. Both the NC and the NW, one is too red and the other is too yellow! Is it the same with all Mac’s foundation colors?
