Just as I was running low on exfoliant, I received a sample of Lancer The Method: Polish from Sephora, a gentle skin resurfacing treatment that claims to remove surface debris and infuse skin with oxygen to make it more radiant and smooth.
The Lancer The Method: Polish is the first step of a 3-step daily skin care regimen developed by celebrity dermatologist Dr. Lancer, whose clients include Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and Victoria Beckham. To use, you apply a small amount onto damp skin and gently massage over face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Then you rinse and follow with The Method: Cleanse, a foaming cleanser.
Key ingredients include:
• Natural Quartz and Sodium Bicarbonate Crystals to create precise exfoliation without the risk of micro-cuts or abrasions
• Pumpkin and Pomegranate Extracts to slough away dead skin cells
• Brown Sea Algae to moisturize and soothe
The texture reminded me of a homemade Baking Soda scrub (after all, Sodium Bicarbonate is baking soda). The crystals felt gritty and a little abrasive yet surprisingly, did not irritate my sensitive skin, even with daily use. There was a slight warming sensation and I loved how soothing the subtle Lavender scent was.
Once I washed off the polish with lukewarm water, I saw a difference right away. My skin felt clean, super soft and the dry, flaky patches around my nose were completely gone! The product also helped my skin absorb the toner and serum I used afterwards, making my skin glow and more plumped up the following morning.
Overall, I really liked how effective Lancer The Method: Polish was in getting rid of dead skin and prepping my skin for treatments. I will definitely look into the version for sensitive skin once my sample runs out.
Lancer The Method: Polish is available at Sephora and Nordstrom for $75.
