Runway Beauty: Nude Makeup at Camilla and Marc S/S 2013-2014

April 9, 2013

Fashion Week Australia Spring/Summer 2013-2014 officially kicked off today! And at Camilla and Marc, the collection was layered, vivid, textural, opulent and inspired by the Russian Matryoshka doll. “We went with something a little more progressive for Camilla and Marc. We’ve lightened the brows on the girls with foundation for a modern effect. It’s all very creamy and nude! I feel like the brows have injected freshness into a typically very classic beauty look. The skin is very clean, with an understated contour and a simple nude lip.” explained Napoleon Perdis, lead makeup artist for the show.

Prime
To prep the skin for extra hydration, use two pumps of Auto Pilot Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum. Massage into the skin with sanitized fingertips or use Flawless Foundation Brush g18. Using Flawless Foundation Brush g18, blend Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer over the entire face. Spray two pumps of Auto Pilot Moisture Mist over the face and allow the mist to set onto the skin.

Base
Achieve a flawless base with Boudoir Mist Spray Foundation. Begin in the ‘feature focus’ area (the triangle of features – eyes, nose & lips) of the face and work in a circular direction for a perfect finish. Using the The One Concealer, conceal the under eye area. Conceal any blemishes or skin discoloration with the appropriate shade of Mighty Concealer Pen. For best application results, use Full Coverage Brush g12. Set your foundation by dusting Camera Finish Powder Foundation over the hot spots of the face (forehead, nose and chin) using Finishing Powder Brush s25. Lightly set around the eye area using Contour Brush 16b.

Brows
Comb the brows into place and lighten the shade of the natural brow colour by spraying the Boudoir Mist Spray Foundation over the brow. Allow the spray foundation to set and re-apply to further enhance the illusion of a lightened brow.

Eyes
Apply your first coat of Magnif-Eyes Mascara to the lashes. Blend a small amount of The One Concealer onto the entire eye area using Full Coverage Brush g12. Sweep Prismatic Eyeshadow Quad #4 Nude over the entire eye lid from lash line to brow bone using Sculpting Brush 10r. Wash a blend of Eye Pencil Brown Sugar through the socket of the eye using Sculpting Brush 10r. Ensure to contour the inner bridge of the eye. Wash the pencil straight across the socket of the eye when contouring, ensuring the finish is still smooth and blended. Set the pencil application with a blend of Prismatic Eyeshadow Quad #4 Tan and Mocha using Sculpting Brush 10r. Pat Prismatic Eyeshadow Quad #4 Nude onto the mobile lid ensuring a stronger application on the mobile lid and inner corner of the eye. Freshen and brighten up the water line by applying Eye Bright Inner Rim Liner. Define the upper inner water line using Eye Pencil Brown Sugar.

Cheeks
Sculpt the contours of the face by shading with Color Disc Trench Coat. Use Contour Brush 16b for precise application. Blend the application using Reflective Contour Brush 20b. Highlight the top of the cheekbone with a blend of Auto Pilot Lip Service and Loose Eye Dust Ice Storm. Apply using finger tips for a fused finish.

Lips
Pat DéVine Goddess Lipstick Gamelia lightly over the lips with your fingertips to neutralize the natural colour of the lips. Coat the lips generously with Lip Lacquer Clearly Glam.
