The brushes come in a cute, gift-ready slate blue box decked with snowflakes. Like the regular full-sized brushes, the handles felt sturdy and lightweight with the names of the brushes and the word “Stila” embossed on them. The only difference is the color, which is a slate blue instead of the signature black.

#24a Powder Brush is from the regular #24 Double-sided Illuminating Powder Brush. It comes with really soft bristles made out of fine goat hair and is great for blending powder and applying blush.

#33a Foundation Brush is from the #33 One Step Complexion Brush. It is a synthetic brush designed to blend liquid, creams and powder foundation into your skin. The bristles are slightly longer than my other foundation brushes and felt firm yet super soft. It worked beautifully with my favorite NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF30/PA+++ and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural as well.

#33b Domed Concealer Brush is a smaller version of the 33a Foundation Brush and the other end to the #33 Brush. I love using it to apply concealer and to get to those hard-to-reach areas like around the nose and the inner corner of the eyes by the nose. You can also use it to apply lipstick.

#5 Shadow Brush is a flat eyeshadow brush made of goat and pony hair with a tapered head. The shape reminded me of the flat end of my Stila #15 Double-Sided Crease and Liner Brush, only slightly longer with even softer bristles.

#4 Eyeliner/Smudger Brush is made out of soft pony hair for precise eyeliner application and to smudge. It also works great for highlighting the inner corners and to apply color on the outer v for those with a small crease.

Overall, Stila Holiday 2012 Brush Set is a great set for both beginners and pros and will definitely get you covered for every day makeup application. Plus at $28, you are only paying $5.60 for each full-sized brush, which is no doubt a steal!
