Runway Beauty: Valentino Fall 2009

March 10, 2009

At Valentino A/W 2009, models strutted in a simple yet beautiful collection of dresses by new designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. I really loved the acid yellow, turquoise, emerald green and wine in the collection and the hair and makeup complemented them so well!

Makeup artist Pat McGrath created a polished look with the focus on the eyes. She applied a taupe eyeshadow (try NARS Ashes to Ashes eyeshadow) on the eyelids and topped with a gray-beige shimmer before smudging a black kohl around the eyes and extending the line outwards. Short strips of false lashes were applied followed with Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper Mascara.
The cheeks were contoured with a very light touch of pink and the lips remained subdued with a nude lip balm. To complete the look, a bright red nail polish (Revlon Red) was applied to the nails.

Hairstylist Orlando Pita gave models a “young and fresh look with a lot of volume and a little flicks at the ends”. He blow-dried models hair with a thick round brush and applied a generous spritz of Plump and Control hair spray, both from T3.
