Sale of Stila

May 20, 2006

Here is the latest scoop behind the sale of Stila. I used to really like their eyeshadows and palettes – this is *so* sad =(

Stila Cosmetics, formerly owned by Estee Lauder, has been officially sold to an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners Inc. in April. A new management team, operating under the name Stila Corp., will lead the brand.

The brand is currently being pulled from all counters. It will still be carried at Sephora, Sephora.com, select Bloomingdales, Barneys NY, Fred Segal, select Anthropolgie stores, select Bloomingdales and most likely online at stilacosmetics.com. Sephora will only be carrying 50% of the line while Bloomingdales will carry 100%.

The Pro stores located at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA and Valley Fair in Santa Clara, CA will close in July. They will not be getting any new stock or new collections. The Pro Store at Beverly Center in Los Angeles, CA will stay open.

There is no information on Stila’s availability outside the US as of now but I will keep you ladies posted.

I am really sad about that…Though Stila is not my favourite brand, they have a lot of good stuff. They worth to stay in my opinion. Hope the new management team will only make Stila better. 🙂

    Hi there

Can you do a tutorial on nail care? I have few brands in mind but not sure which one is better, e.g. Barielle, Creative nail, OPI, Sally Hansen, etc. Hope you can give me some advice =)
