To offset the bright colors and glittery beading spotted at the Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 show, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury created a chic early 90’s woman look that is “very done but in a neutral way.” The eyes were defined in shades of gray and brown while the cheeks were lightly contoured with a bronzer and a rosy nude was applied onto the lips.
To go with the organic look Kate and Laura Mulleavy designed for the Rodarte Fall 2009 collection, MAC makeup artist James Kaliardos did a stone face. “The idea behind it is sculpture – to deconstruct and reconstruct the face in an abstract way emphasizing each part.” said Kaliardos.
Lead makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury created a fresh, youthful look with heavy liner around the eyes and rosy cheeks and lips for the DKNY Fall 2009 show.
“The look is inspired by the late 50s – she is a modern take on a punk 50s school girl” says Tilbury. Thick black eyeliner was applied on the eyes with the ends squared off for a more modern look. A rosy blush was blended high on top of the the cheekbones and on the lips for a stained look.
To offset the soft, flowy collection at the Yigal Azrouel Fall 2009 show, the hair and makeup is all about rock and roll. Makeup artist Polly Osmond from MAC created a super intense, matte, cat-like black eye with lots of black liner, eyeshadow and mascara. The rest of the face was left blank with little foundation and pale lips.
At the Nicole Miller Fall 2009 show last Friday, MAC makeup artist James Kaliardos created a sophisticated classic smoky eye in rich hues of blue with nude lips.
