Celebrity makeup, hair and nail looks and tips

Earlier this week, two of our favorite ladies, Kristen Stewart and Katy Perry, were spotted with some major eyeliner. Personally, I don’t like the look on either of them. The black is too harsh against Kristen’s pale complexion (she should have added a bit more color on her cheeks and lips) and Katy’s look is downright drag-queenish.

So ladies, when is too much too much? Where do you draw the line, literally?

Pink has always been a challenging color to pull off around the eyes but Rihanna totally rocked it at the Nokia X6 launch party in London yesterday. The singer paired a thick, fuchsia eyeliner on the lower lid with some short, spiky lashes on top and kept the rest of her face understated with just a bit of blush and a nude lip.

Lesson Here: To avoid looking like you got pink eye, pick a super bright color and wear extra liner and mascara.

Actress Hayden Panettiere showed off some new bangs at the Whaleman Foundation Benefit yesterday. Normally I’m not a huge fan of bangs (they remind me of my Asian cut when I was young *lol*) but I think she looks great! The bangs give her an edgier, younger look. Are we digging the bangs ladies?

Looks like big things are coming for celebrity makeup artist, Scott Barnes!

Scott, who is best-known for creating Jennifer Lopez’s to-die-for bronzed skin and pale lips, will be releasing a new book, About Face, in January. The book will feature Jennifer Lopez as cover girl and include makeovers on real women with step-by-step instructions, beauty rituals/must-haves and celebrities Scott has worked with.

A new collection of makeup and body care products under Scott’s name is also to set to launch within the next year to 18 months. I wonder how it will compare to Scott’s best-selling bronzer, Body Bling.
