Slowly yet surely, summer is coming to end. I will start covering some of the hottest makeup looks from the A/W 2013 runway that you MUST try, followed by my very own version of it with tips on nailing the look. Fierce was the word that came to mind when I saw the gorgeous cat eye with nude lip at Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2013 Couture. Using “six shades of brown shadow”, makeup artist Lloyd Simmonds elongated models’ eyes before adding white kohl on the inner rim of the lids and black eyeliner on upper and lower lashlines.
Emmy Rossum ditched her signature dewy look for a bolder, glam punk look at the 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Annual Costume Institute Gala last night. “Emmy’s look was a mixture of beautiful femininity and rock ‘n’ roll edginess with her romantic gown and bold eye makeup,” said her makeup artist Jo Baker.
With Sophia Loren as inspiration, makeup guru Pat McGrath created velvet complexions with winged-out eyes and crimson lips at the Dolce & Gabbana A/W 2013 runway show.
To create the idea of Indian gypsies at the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2013 Couture show, makeup artist Lloyd Simmonds created a very dramatic winged cat eye with drawn-in brows and matte skin adorned with rhinestones. Simply gorgeous!
At the Dolores Cortes show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2013, Make Up For Ever Alliance Artist Lottie combined sexy cat eyes with a bold pink statement lip for a punchy neon pop. Love how the look worked with the matching hair and nails without being over the top!
