Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection Review

After seeing Megan Fox’s gorgeous tousled look at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, I turned to the latest Tousle Me Softly Collection from Herbal Essences to create my very own.

The Tousle Me Softly line consists of a shampoo, conditioner, mousse, spray gel, hairspray and finishing touch cream to suit different hair types so anyone can create the tousle look. All products contain Wild Violet and Pomegranate, which smell so great and refreshing. Plus there are numbers listed on the products so you can simply follow them to perfect the look.

I started off with the Tousle Me Softly Shampoo and Conditioner. The shampoo is a thick blue gel that lathers easily while the conditioner is a light blue cream. While both did a good job cleansing and conditioning my hair, I did not notice any immediate effects on the texture/look of my naturally straight Asian hair.

After towel-drying my hair, I moved onto the Tousle Me Softly Mousse. I applied it to the roots, distributed it evenly all over my hair before blow drying it. The mousse added volume and body onto my fine hair without weighing it down, which is pretty rare. Awesome!

Next, I ran an 1.5 inch curling iron through my hair and brushed out the curls with my fingers. I finished the look with a mist of the Tousle Me Softly Hair Spray, which is my other favorite product out of the line. It holds nicely without being stiff or sticky and it works on any look!

So what’s the verdict? The Tousle Me Softly is a nice, affordable line that is easy to use but personally, I do not think you need all the products to get the look. I get the same results mixing the products with my regular shampoo, conditioner and styling products. I do highly recommend the Tousle Me Softly Hair Spray and Tousle Me Softly Mousse, especially for those with fine hair.
