Celebrity Hair Makeover: Cheryl Cole Dyes Her Hair Red!

August 24, 2009

I always thought red hair is *hot* for fall and one of my favorite UK celebs, Cheryl Cole, has gone from her sexy brunette hair to a hot dark cherry red.

Tips On How To Rock Red Hair

* Since red is such a dramatic color, you may need a bit more color on the face to pull off the look. If you have very pale skin, remember to warm up your complexion with a bronzer/blush.

* You may also need a new set of makeup to go with your new hair color and don’t forget to fill in your eyebrows with a matching color.

* Reds tend to fade a lot faster than other colors so be prepared to touch up often and remember to use color-protecting hair products.

* Products I have tried and loved to create red hair: Revlon Colorsilk in #48 Burgundy and #49 Auburn Brown.

Oh gosh, that color is sooooo pretty. Mind if I repost? 🙂 Or just use it as a starting point for my entry? 🙂

Haha, I just got my hair dyed this summer in HK. A deep red, so I guess that’s burgundy? ^^

I think red hair will go beautifully with green eyes! And yes, reds do fade a lot faster.

  • Reply audrey October 16, 2010 at 3:53 pm

do you know of a professional hair color (like from sallys) that would create this shade? i have been searching for this color but i don’t know which one it is since swatches don’t usually match the real color. thanks for your help!

      Audrey,

It’s hard for me to just name a shade that will give you the exact color. A lot of things like your natural hair color, the product you’re using and even your ethnicity could affect how the color would turn out. I’d suggest you go to a salon and consult a colorist instead.

i want to colour my hair like this but my eyebrows are dark brown, would that be ok?

    • Reply Phyllis October 22, 2010 at 11:22 am

Sure! If you look closely at Cheryl’s eyebrows, they are dark brown too.

Where can I get this colour hair dye from?

  • Reply Phyllis November 19, 2010 at 9:46 am

Cheryl supposedly used L’oreal’s Casting Creme Gloss in shade #550 Mahogany for this hair color.
