  1. OMG, I didn’t know they had this locally? Where was this at? Would have been fun to check it out.

  2. I once stumbled upon a convention when I was dining in the same hotel. Cool, yet kind of scary.

  3. Yah turns out they do this every year at Rosemont.

I’m not into cosplay and have never been to an anime convention but I grew up watching a lot of anime so I thought it would be nice to check it out.

  4. these are really cool!
but the red dressed girl in the first couple pictures is actually jessica rabbit, i dont know who doleres is.

  5. Not to go all dork on you, but my experience from being subjected to mostly boy-oriented animated cartoons when I was younger tells me that the guy next to Naruto is Tai Kamiya from Digimon, not Chouji Akimichi. I could be wrong.

  6. Those are awesome. I have a couple of anime pics posted for my friend who designs cosplay/ goth-loli clothing. I want to go to a convention like this.

  7. Phyllis, you should do an anime makeup tutorial!

  8. zomg! ACEN!!! i staffed at ACEN in 2004 and 2005. Oh how i missed it! i remember being in awe and fascinated surrounded by the costumes and otakus everywhere. prior to that ive only ever seen pics of anime convention online. it’s super fun to actually experience what it’s all about.

  9. Thanks Emily and Emi for the correction! It’s been too long since I caught up on my anime *lol*

  10. I was trying to find pics of myself as Naruto from another convention and I found this one instead. Thanks for posting it online. I’ll be back at ACEN next year, so you may see me again :)
