MAC Holiday 2008 Passions of Red Collection

Eyeshadow Palettes

Devoted Poppy: 6 Classic Eyes comes with 6 new and limited edition colors. While the two more interesting colors, Fall Deeply and Awaken, look pretty in the pan, they are semi-sheer and slightly chalky. The real winners are Amourously and Sweet Eyes but even with that, you can easily find dupes of them.

Young Thing – Light creamy peach
In Awe – Intense black with gold pearl
Fall Deeply – Frosty bright blue with white pearl
Amourously – Frosty antique gold
Sweet Eyes – Shimmery muted golden beige
Awaken – Frosty light green with golden pearl

Intriguing Scarlet: 6 Warm Eyes too contains 6 new and limited edition colors. It is a nice palette if you are into warm colors. My favorite colors are Real Drama, Warm Suede and Sweet Joy.

Warm Suede – Frosty antiqued golden olive
Grand Entrance – Dirty deep green with green pearl
Real Drama – Dirty burgundy with red pearl
Gentle Heat – Light muted grey taupe
Well Spiced – Frosted warm peachy brown
Sweet Joy – Frosted creamy pale gold

Infatuating Rose: 6 Cool Eyes
This is my favorite palette out of them all and the only one worth getting! Not only are the colors all new and limited edition, they are smooth, decently pigmented and easy to blend. My favorite ones are Platonic, Deep Feelings and Feast.

Platonic – Frosty greyed perwinkle
Cavort – Cool dirty lavender orchid
Satisfy – Slightly shimmery pale ballet pink
Bon Fete – Frosty neutral mid-tone pink
Deep Feelings – Dirty deep violet indigo
Feast – Frosty pink plum

Fascinating Ruby: 6 Smokey Eyes
This palettes comes with two permanent colors, Satin Taupe and Carbon. All the colors go very well with each other and they do make a great palette for smoky eyes. The color that stood out to me the most was Ambiance. It reminded me a lot of Gentle Fume from the Velvet 6: Smoked Eyes that was released with the MAC Holiday 2006 Formal Black Collection, only better. I also really liked Scant and Gorgeous. They are both great highlighting colors with good pigmentation.

Scant – Creamy white with pink pearl
Satin Taupe – Taupe brown with silvery bronze shimmer
Dark Devotion – Black brown
Gorgeous – Light silver with white pearl
Ambiance – Cool mid-tone grey with silver sparkle
Carbon – Intense black
