The Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week has officially ended last Friday and below are some of the trends spotted on the runway.
Trend 1: Nude Look
Yes the nude look is big again at the Spring 2009 shows. Models at the Marc by Marc Jacobs and MaxAzria shows were spotted with natural-looking skin, minimal eye makeup and barely there lips.
Trend 2: Red Lips
Unlike the red lips we see this fall, the look for Spring 2009 is a lot softer and wearable. MAC’s Russian Red lipstick is a hit among celebrities and will look almost fool-proof on anyone. Models at the Tuleh show wore their red lips paired with gold eyeshadow rimmed around their eyes.
Those at Michael Kors paired their red lips with black mascara and rosy cheeks.
Check out How To Wear Red Lipstick for more tips on the look.
Trend 3: Metallics
Designers have once again proved to us that metallics are hot and here to stay. At the Oscar de la Renta show below, models strutted around with poofy hair, eyes drenched in metallic golds and bronzes and matte nude lips.
For a more feminine look, copy the Vera Wang models by wearing a metallic silver color on the eyes with a soft pink lip.
Alternatively, take it to the extreme by painting your lips in a metallic violet/magenta color just like the models at Zac Posen. Remember to keep the rest of your face understated to avoid an overkill.

I definitely prefer the metallic eyes and nude lips look den the oppossite.
Lol!!! red lips is just so not my thing!
For some reason, I truly adore the last look. With my tanned skin, I think I could pull it off too 🙂
I tried the last look in one of my posts more b/c I was bored. I would have never worn it out though!
I like the metalics
I like the metallic look and the red lips. I dunno if I can pull off the last look though haha
I was wondering, do you have any tips for taking care of your hair after you dye it? Maybe product reviews of deep conditioners?
Thanks =)
I LOOOVE the gold eyes with red lips, especially on the Asian model. What a gorgeous and simple look! I wish I had the right eyebrows to pull that off.
