As promised, below are a few trends I spotted on the high street during my short stay in the oh-so-fashionable London town.
Trend #1: Plaid
From shirts, dresses, shoes, scarfs to bags, plaid or check (as the English would call it) is everywhere.
Trend #2: Patent + Exotic Skins
When it comes to bags, patent and exotic skins are still hot hot hot. Check out this super cute Paul’s Boutique Patent Ostrich Twister Bag that I snagged from Top Shop (I got one in red).
Trend #3: Purple
You can never go wrong with purple this season. Go for rich plums and lavenders in the form of dresses, coats, bags or even boots.
Trend #4: Leather Biker Jacket
This is a must for fall and are spotted everywhere in London stores. Wear it over a dress to spice up a feminine look or dress it down with a pair of skinny jeans and tees. If you are looking to get a nice one, be prepared to pay at least $200-400. I picked mine up from my all-time favorite store, Zara, but below are some cute leather jackets that you can get from Nordstrom.
Kenna-T Quilted Leather Moto Jacket and Calvin Klein Lambskin Leather Scuba Jacket
Trend #5: Hippie
Think hang-loose chiffon layers, hobo prints, cowboy boots, fringe bags and stone accessories. Check out stores like Mango, Anna Sui and Zara for some exquisite pieces and Nicole Richie’s Style Secrets for more ideas.
Trend #6: Boots
Be it UGGS, booties or knee-length, you will never seen a Londoner without boots. Pair with a pair of skinny jeans, leggings or tights for the ultimate chic look.
