Sephora’s Fall 2008 Visual Effects Eye Looks

August 16, 2008

My Fall 2008 Sephora catalog just came in the mail and I am really loving their eye looks. Below are some of my favorites:

Bold Liner and Faux Lashes
Inspired by the Haute Couture and Dior Fall 2008 fashion shows, these two looks are definitely not for the shy.

Purple Eyeshadow and Smoky Eyes
Smoky eyes are definitely one of Fall’s signature looks and this year, the two it colors are purple and gray.

Color-on Eye Envy
With animal prints everywhere this season, it is no surprise that we are seeing them even on the eyes.

For videos on how to duplicate these looks, check out Sephora’s Visual Effects.

I love the last one, the brown subtly contours the eye. Perhaps you should post some looks on asian eyes or monolids, to give us an idea on what to do.

the first one looks really dramatic. it would be fun to try it out at home… 😀
oh, and i would really like to get your opinion on the MAC mascaras. i recently got the powerpoint eyeliner [it’s fantastic!!] and i’d like to try out the mascaras… thank you!

First one and the last one are my favorites. The second one is too theatrical and dramatic to pull off–maybe good for Halloween! It’s interesting that current makeup trend (in US) is getting super dramatic.

I love the top left one. What do you think would be a good eyeliner to try that look with?

    I love animal prints-
Beyonce had the animal print eyeshadow on her eyes for the video “Kitty Kat” – you should check it out. . .it’s like the one in the blog, but slightly lighter in color and more detailed IMO. . .

even though i would never wear these looks for an everyday look, it looks fun to try on! maybe you should do a post about recreating these looks yourself..i would love to see how it turns out in real life.

The last eyeshadow look is *so* HOT. Perhaps you could do an EOTD based on that picture someday? Like you used to do in the past ;D Anyways do keep up the good work!!
I stumbled upon your wonderful, informative blog one day when I was looking for a tutorial on tightlining. I've been an avid reader of your blog ever since – back from the days when you were still studying in London 🙂
Another plus is that you & I have the same skintone, so I *always* check here for information on product reviews & new MAC collections – your choice of purchases (esp. from MAC) greatly influence my own shopping decisions 😉 More so when MAC is rather overpriced here in Malaysia, & I can't afford to make expensive mistakes! LOL

You should totally do the one with the leopard print. It is absolutely gorgeous, daring, and very bold. I tried doing it after it appeared on an issue of Harpers Bazaar, but failed miserably. But it is so awesome and I am willing to try it again!

i love the leopard print one.

at sephora they have this..its kindof odd sounding..but its like a cream eyeshadow sheet that you apply by gently pressing..sortof like a tattoo . i think thats how they got this look. theres also zebra design too

however it sounds really difficult to apply right

    Jennifer,

You can try drawing the line with a pencil first then going over it with a liquid liner or gel liner for maximum staying power.

I really like the leopard one too. I will try to do an EOTD of it after I come back from London =)
