Hawaiian Tropic Island Glow Daily Moisturizer Review

May 11, 2006

Scratch the self-tanner reviews I did earlier becauseHawaiian Tropic Island Glow Daily Moisturizer ($6) completely blew everything else away! I bought this in Medium after reading some rave reviews online and I have been using this religiously for more than a week now.

Like Jergen Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer, this is a self-tanning moisturizer. It is packed with vitamins A, C and E with a green tea fragrance. Even though it claims to keep skin moisturized for up to 12 hours, I do not find it very moisturizing – I still needed to put a lotion on top. When I first applied it onto my legs, it dried pretty fast and I could not detect any green tea smell but there was none of that typcial self-tanner smell either. However, after a few hours, my legs started smelling a little like self-tanner but it is so much more bearable compared to the Jergen’s. As for the color, my legs started getting darker by day three – no more pale pasty legs for me yay! Moreover, the color looked very realistic, it was a golden bronze and not orange nor streaky. I am going to try mixing this into my facial moisturizer to see if it’ll work on my face too. Will post an update in a bit.

Hey I was thinking of purchasing this a while ago, but I got the Dove Energy Glow instead. It’s working really well for me, but I’m trying to find something darker. I was wondering if you had before & after pics? Thanks!

I guess it depends no how tan you want your skin. I would say go for medium but if you just want a teeny bit of color, go with fair.

Hey, thanks for all the info you put up on the site, it’s great! I was wondering, what do the self-tanners smell like? I was thinking of getting jergens but recently read your reviews, thanks for that. I’ll deffinitely be getting something else!
