I absolutely *love* MAC Fluidlines! I have Sweet Sage, Blue Peep, Blacktrack and Delphic and I am planning on getting more!
Fluidlines are basically gel liners and they are a dream to apply. All you have to do is dip the brush into the product, pull your skin taut and they glide right on. They apply a little moist but dry fast and stay put all day. Plus since they come in bright, funky colors, you can also use them as an eyeshadow base. I did that with Sweet Sage and it did not crease a bit. Highly recommended!
MAC Fluidline is available at Nordstrom and MAC stores and counters.
MAC Glitter Eye Liner may be limited edition but it has always been one of my favorite glitter liners.
MAC Glitter Eye Liner
Stila Smudgepot was my first gel liner and used to be my holy grail until I tried MAC Fluidline.
Compared to the Fluidline, the Smudgepot comes in your everyday conservative colors like black, brown, dark plum etc. and is more suitable for those who are color-shy.
The texture is also different. While it does apply smoothly, the Smudgepot feels drier and firmer. Mine dried up in less than a year even though there was still a lot of product left. I will not repurchase this.
Stila Smudgepot is available at Sephora and Beauty.com for $18.
I was totally sucked into Majolica Majorca Automatic Liner by its pretty commericals and cute packaging.
While the promo pictures show a great selection of gorgeous, metallic colors, the liner comes in softer colors and is not as pigmented as shown. I have BK999, which is supposedly a rich black but it shows up a dark gray at most on my NC30 skin. To get a solid black line, you really need to layer it on.
The formula is also a little runnier than my favorite Inoui Liner, making it harder to draw a fine line.
I do like the brush a lot though – the bristles are very soft and do not tug at my skin.
For ~$20, there are definitely better options out there. I will not repurchase.
As requested by juicycouture, I will be starting a list of eyeliner reviews.
||MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil ($13.50)
When MAC came out with these, I was stoked. Unlike MAC’s regular eye pencil, these are so much more easier to blend and they stay on a lot better too. They are also different from MAC’s Eye Kohl because they are waterproof. I have Forever Green which is a shimmery forest emerald green and it makes my brown eyes pop.
||MAC Eye Kohl ($13.50)
I have this in Smolder, a basic black color. It is very soft and super easy to blend. There are also many pretty colors to choose from. The only downside to kohls is that they smudge like crazy. Having said that, they are great for the smoky eyes look. But if you have oily skin or the habit of rubbing your eyes, do not even think of getting this.
||MAC Pearlglide Liners ($14.50)
These are definitely MAC’s best pencil liners! They are ultra creamy and glide on so easily! There are a total of 8 gorgeous colors available and they are all rich and metallic with a sparkly finish. You can smudge them out for a softer look or you can just let them set for a more solid effect. The staying power is also great. I ended up with Black Russian and Rave and they make my brown eyes pop! Click here for the swatches.
